Blood Brothers:  Spontaneous By Design  ( ca. 1990)

  • LP 
  • Musicians incl. Peter Mitchell (lead vocals/guitar), Ian Mitchell (drums), Trevor Dunham, Tim Hewitt, Cathy Hewitt, Judy Mitchell (piano), Peter Cozens, Howard Dawson, Tim Phillips.
  •  A collection of rehersal demos and jams, the songs on this album were recorded between 1988 and 1990. Most were also performed live with the party band collective The Song
  • Tracks incl. “Grateful,” ”Spontaneous  by Design,” “Impossibly True,” “Holy to Me,” “Girl of My Dreams,” “I Would Not Call it Love,” “Boxing Day,” “Poor World.”
  • Some of the tracks were recorded at Peter Mitchell’s ‘mountain retreat’ at Hazelbrook. Others were recorded during rehearsals in Sydney.
  • Most of Peter Mitchell’s recordings utilised drum computers (to overcome the difficulty of recording drums in a home studio environment) . This album comprises all live drumming by Ian Mitchell.

  • Although unreleased both songs recieved airplay on Triple J (Demo Show and in regular programming).
  • Recorded at JMC Studios, Strawberry Hills, Sydney in 1984.
  • Musicians: Peter Mitchell (lead vocals),  Ian Mitchell (drums/synth drums), Tim Rollinson (guitars), Jane Hewetson (bass), Chris Green (backing vocals)
  • Arranged and produced by Captains of Industry. Engineered by Martin Cass.
